The AIOFP represents independently owned financial advisers in a sector long dominated by institutional players, but their existing site wasn't keeping pace with the association's ambitions or its dual audience. Financial advisers evaluating membership and consumers searching for independent advice have completely different needs - and a site that didn't clearly serve both was leaving enquiries on the table. The association also needed a credible digital platform to give its regulatory commentary and advocacy work the prominence it deserved.
We built a custom WordPress site on the Listeo directory framework with a tailored child theme and Elementor page layouts. Paid Memberships Pro manages tiered member access and gated content, while an interactive location-based adviser locator gives consumers a fast, intuitive way to find independently owned advisers in their area. The result serves simultaneously as a public advocacy platform, a membership acquisition channel, and a private resource hub for financial advisers.
Member Directory & Adviser Locator
The interactive Find an Adviser directory is the most important public-facing feature on the site - built on the Listeo directory framework with a map-based search that lets consumers find independently owned financial advisers by location. For an association whose core purpose is connecting consumers with conflict-free advice, this is the primary conversion tool and the reason most first-time visitors arrive.

Paid Memberships Pro powers a structured membership system giving financial advisers a clear path from prospect to paying member, with tiered access levels controlling what's available publicly versus what's reserved for members. WooCommerce was integrated alongside it to give the AIOFP the ability to sell tickets to events and international conferences directly through the site - keeping the full transaction experience on their own platform.

Serving two completely different audiences - financial advisers weighing up membership and consumers researching independent advice - required an information architecture that never forces either group to wade through content aimed at the other. Dedicated For Advisers and For Consumers pathways with distinct navigation ensure every visitor reaches the right content within seconds of arriving on the site.
